What is this about?
Some time ago I have decided to keep a track of the books that I read and listen to. I started using goodreads.com for this and I’m pretty happy with it. It took some time to dig titles from memory to fill in past books, I’m sure a lot of books are still missing there, but it’s good enough for now.
On top of that, I’ll be posting a short, monthly books update post on this blog, with the two things in mind.
September books
This month was fruitful, I have finished 6 books, all as audiobooks on audible.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, by Stpehne R. Covey
This is an amazing book, I consider it a must-read for anyone who wants to improve himself.
Sapiens: The Brief History of Humankind, by Yuval Noah Harari
A great look at our history, our flaws, how we think, how we behave as a species. Fascinating.
This one has a lot of really great information on how to work effectively, which is really hard now when everyone and everything is in a rush.
So Good They Can’t Ignore you, by Cal Newport
Another one by Cal Newport, but I didn’t like this one. I like the keynote of the book, which is, that you have to work hard first, then you have a place for passion, but as a whole it is not so great.
This time a re-read. The best summary of this book is its subtitle “A Little Book That Teaches You When to Quit (and When to Stick)”
Getting Past No, by William Ury
Another re-read, this time a must-read about negotiations. So if you work with people, and not only with computers, it is worth to read.
